Jane Swain
Jane Swain is an associate director and core faculty member of the teacher education program at Sophia’s Hearth. Jane is a pediatric physical therapist, a movement therapist, and a senior therapeutic trainer at the Spatial Dynamics Institute. She is certified in Bothmer Gymnastics®, Sensory Integration Praxis testing and Bobath/Neuro-developmental Treatment for children with Cerebral Palsy. Jane has also studied at the Pikler Institute in Budapest, and has a special interest in the child’s integration of the primitive reflexes. Jane previously taught movement education in the early grades at the Monadnock Waldorf School and has provided classroom consultation and worked privately with children for many years. Jane is certified by the New Hampshire Child Development Bureau as an Early Childhood Master Professional Workshop Trainer. She is an author and international adult educator.
Jane loves to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Throughout her childhood, Jane had a wonderful movement education, including lots of free play outside, dance lessons with her sisters, synchronized swimming, and physical work on the family farm.
